●Mechanical Engineering Department
　Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the earliest departments having most specialties and strongest strength in the institute.
　The Mechanical Engineering Department has a teacher group with a reasonable structure, rich teaching experience, strong practical ability and good comprehensive quality. Now it has 30 full-time teachers, six part-time teachers, 18 practical training instructors. Graduate Master and Re-graduate Master have reached 35%, 30% of which have senior titles and 60% of which have secondary titles.
Since 1997, Mechanical Engineering Department has started to recruit five-year system’s mechanical applied technology specialties----- one of the first experimental specialties for five-year system’s collegial education in Jiangsu. The department was awarded as the Office of Jiangsu Provincial Education Model professional in 2003. Presently it possesses a variety of specialties, such as the mechanical technical application, the numerical control technology application, the electronic technology application and computer network technology. Obvious professional characteristics make the students’ employment prospect wide.
　In the future, Mechanical Engineering Department will make further efforts to strengthen the teachers’ group and practical training facilities. By actively expanding foreign exchange, increasing overall strength and continually enhancing the quality of talents, the department is making great strides forward to the educational goal----- “moderate recruitment of students scale, consummate condition for running a school, higher level of teaching, good reputation in society”.
